Given the increasing pace and conflict present in modern life, with all its resulting stress, one could say that yoga has become an essential tool for survival, as well as for expanding the creativity and joy of our lives.
All of the yoga classes are practiced with full awareness of the breath. Yoga increases knowledge and appreciation for life by making us more aware of our body, feeling, and thought patterns so we can make better choices and take appropriate actions in our life.
Yoga has been found to decrease stress levels and help individuals alleviate stress, depression, and other emotional issues.
Let go of the ego and be open to a new possibility of positive change in your body, mind, and spirit most important every stretch begins with a smile.
Yoga should be practiced barefoot
Besides–yoga should be practiced barefoot, so you feel more grounded and stable in the postures. Remember stretch ONLY at your ability, ouch is not a good word please be careful.

About taking a Beach Yoga Class
Don’t forget a light jacket, sweatshirt, or sweater. Sometimes in the mornings, if it is cool, you may want to put on a light sweater, jacket, or windbreaker. When you are overlooking the water from the pavilion and feeling enlightened, the ocean is going to call out your name. Be prepared. Jumping in the water after morning sun salutations are up there with chocolate as one of life’s greatest treats.
Bring your yoga mat. You’ll be on a concrete floor, so ensure you bring it with you. You may consider a very large towel- however, we’ve found a yoga mat works best. Note you will not be on the sand or directly on the beach. See the images at the top of the page to get an idea of the environment.
Many of our existing members, regulars, and new people join us for Beach Yoga at Spring Lake. We’re a fun and amazing community. Get to know each other, and have some fun. We know you’ll love it. And besides, you can’t beat the view!
If you’re headed right to the beach after class don’t forget your sunscreen!!!
Wear breathable clothing in contrast to studio clothing. If it’s a hot morning, you may cook in nylon lycra combinations so keep it natural and moisture wicking.
