Mom, daughter, teacher, business owner, recovering fashion designer; like many, life demands we wear numerous hats.
In 2016 after 20 years in the fashion industry and teaching yoga part-time for nearly a decade prior, Jennifer purchased Inlet Yoga Community and began a new chapter in her life. Not only with a yoga studio but soon thereafter in 2017 had a beautiful little girl. The two complement one.
Jennifer believes in the potential of a yoga practice to bring people not only to greater health but a community together from all stages of life. Throughout her time at Inlet, she has headed up and coordinated workshops, classes, international retreats, and teacher training. In multitasking, she also found time to be a new mom. 2020 was not all bad.
Everloving to learn and share, Jennifer was able to begin to teach a chair yoga class for Inlet Yoga (she had been practicing on her own for a few years prior). In this class, she diversified her vinyasa class offerings for the students by focusing on and exploring mindful alignment, strengthening, joint function, and mobility as well as delve deeper into her love of mindful movement and breath practice.
Her more challenging, dynamic, skills and drills, flow-oriented, vinyasa classes are always a favorite filled with community and friends. Most students knowing Jennifer will plan for them will return more than once a week for the challenge and stay for the fun. If not at Inlet Yoga, catch her on the beach, with her daughter, or on Instagram: @jvafakos or @inletyogacommunity
